What is Wrong with the Quick Drug "Fix"?

Drugs alone do not achieve recovery. This is demonstrated by a review of mental health recoveries in King County, WA, the only county in the U.S. required to tabulate its psychiatric recovery rates.  Their 2002 report stated:

Of the 9,304 mental health consumers using the latest antidepressants:

·        561 (6%) regressed

·        8,163 (88%) remained unchanged

·        580 (6%) progressed

·        5 (0.05%) recovered (our highlight)

Imagine any other area of “professionals” which said that out of 9,000 tries, results were only obtained on 5.  9,000 people treated for strep throat, only 5 got better.  9,000 bridges built, only 5 stood up when cars drove over them.  9,000 students sent to first grade, only 5 could read when the year was over?

That is an unacceptable standard, yet one which mental health “experts” continue to explain away.  Don’t be fooled.  Make a better choice and find something that gets results for real for you or someone you care about.
