Medical
Problems: Studies
show from 25% to 40% of psychiatric admissions have medical
problems directly causing the person’s psychiatric symptoms.
Up to another 25% have medical problems exacerbating
their mental symptoms.
2.
Tired.
Exhausted. Running
on adrenalin for too long.
Needs sleep. Needs
sleep for a few days in a row to catch up to a long term
situation of not enough sleep.
Needs to get into a bed and sleep until they wake up.
No alarm. No
timetable. Sleep
until rested.
3.
Improper Diet,
including such things as:

Too much sugar,
white flour, deep-fried foods and caffeine;
·
Insufficient
protein;
·
Skipping
breakfast;
·
Lack of fresh
fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds; (see more about the
importance of Omega 3 fatty acid)
·
Processed foods
low in fiber and nutrients and high in non-nutrient chemicals;
·
Eating foods the
person is allergic to; aspartame (Nutrasweet®).

Nutritional
Imbalances: Sometimes
these result from poor nutrition as noted above, but many
apparent mental disorders actually go back to metabolic
situations requiring higher-than-normal doses of certain
nutrients, or the avoidance of certain foods.
This is such a critical area that the Harvard Medical
School held a three-day conference on “Natural Remedies for
Psychiatric Disorders” in April 2003.
5.
Toxic Conditions
from such as
·
Lead, mercury,
arsenic and other poisons;
·
Pesticides found
in food, water and air;
·
Legal and
illegal drugs, and the combination of these;
·
Petrochemicals
and their by-products, such as carbon monoxide;
·
Other chemicals
that adversely affect health.
6.
Allergies
to foods, airborne substances, and other materials (known to
produce the symptoms of almost every known mental disorder,
including total psychosis).
7.
A lifestyle that
is deficient in
·
Exercise;
·
The fulfilling
of spiritual needs where desired;
·
Sleep;
·
Personal
production;
·
The discipline
to avoid unhealthful activities.
