Contributive Physical Factors
That can make a person Act Crazy

1.       Medical Problems:  Studies show from 25% to 40% of psychiatric admissions have medical problems directly causing the person’s psychiatric symptoms.  Up to another 25% have medical problems exacerbating their mental symptoms.

2.        Tired.  Exhausted.  Running on adrenalin for too long.  Needs sleep.  Needs sleep for a few days in a row to catch up to a long term situation of not enough sleep.  Needs to get into a bed and sleep until they wake up.  No alarm.  No timetable.  Sleep until rested.

3.        Improper Diet, including such things as:

·        Too much sugar, white flour, deep-fried foods and caffeine;

·        Insufficient protein;

·        Skipping breakfast;

·        Lack of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds; (see more about the importance of Omega 3 fatty acid)

·        Processed foods low in fiber and nutrients and high in non-nutrient chemicals;

·        Eating foods the person is allergic to; aspartame (Nutrasweet®).

4.        Nutritional Imbalances:  Sometimes these result from poor nutrition as noted above, but many apparent mental disorders actually go back to metabolic situations requiring higher-than-normal doses of certain nutrients, or the avoidance of certain foods.  This is such a critical area that the Harvard Medical School held a three-day conference on “Natural Remedies for Psychiatric Disorders” in April 2003.

5.        Toxic Conditions from such as

·        Lead, mercury, arsenic and other poisons;

·        Pesticides found in food, water and air;

·        Legal and illegal drugs, and the combination of these;

·        Petrochemicals and their by-products, such as carbon monoxide;

·        Other chemicals that adversely affect health.

6.         Allergies to foods, airborne substances, and other materials (known to produce the symptoms of almost every known mental disorder, including total psychosis).

7.        A lifestyle that is deficient in

·        Exercise;

·        The fulfilling of spiritual needs where desired;

·        Sleep;

·        Personal production;

·        The discipline to avoid unhealthful activities.

These are just a few.
